After witnessing a heated altercation between Pader District chairman Retired Colonel Fearless Obwoya and RDC Milton Odong, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has called for a meeting with the district council leadership in Kampala to facilitate peace talks.

Addressing the council members, Nabbanja offered to cover expenses for all 70 attendees: “Let’s convene in Kampala, where OPM will cover all costs,” she stated following the contentious incident at the Pader District Council Hall on May 12th.

The dispute arose when Obwoya accused RDC Odong of hampering service delivery and fostering factionalism within the district. “Honorable Prime Minister, I urge you to take this RDC with you as he’s impeding progress here,” Obwoya asserted, hinting at potential grassroots action to oust the RDC.

During her visit to Pader on Sunday, PM Nabbanja was taken aback by the deep-seated animosity between the two officials. Despite this, she clarified that the authority to dismiss an RDC rests with the President.
