Britam Insurance Uganda has taken a significant stride in its digital transformation journey by introducing a digital self-service portal. This portal, unveiled in Kampala on Thursday, empowers clients to access services with minimal reliance on staff interaction. It revolutionizes the client-company interaction by providing easy access to vital details and services.

Paul Odong, Operations Manager at Britam Asset Managers, remarked during the launch, “The digital self-service portal grants users access to crucial information such as policy numbers, investment amounts, and contribution summaries. Notably, investors can now withdraw funds swiftly, reducing processing time from 6 days to mere hours. Moreover, clients can register multiple bank accounts for convenient payouts tailored to their business requirements.”

Odong further stated, “For those overseeing accounts on behalf of minors, accessing nominee details is now hassle-free, ensuring all necessary information is readily available. This feature enables easy tracking of important nominee information and offers insights into holding summaries, bank details, and other vital data. Our portal facilitates inquiries and complaints, ensuring prompt assistance.”

Allan Mafabi, Chief Executive Officer at Britam Insurance Company (Uganda) Ltd, stressed, “Our journey of digital transformation began some time ago, and substantial investments have been made to facilitate self-service for our customers. We aim for our partners and clients to self-manage effectively, enabling them to monitor statements, claims, and investments, and even purchase policies instantly, such as travel insurance, which can be bought via phone while at the airport.”

Ronald Kasolo, General Manager at Britam Asset Managers, highlighted the advantages of the investment self-service portal, including a user-friendly interface, secure access, 24/7 availability, portfolio management capabilities, and enhanced convenience. He affirmed the company’s commitment to digital evolution, with plans to integrate user-friendly products across their entire range.
