Among expressed appreciation for Japan’s longstanding commitment to development cooperation, spanning nearly six decades, which has yielded tangible benefits and enhanced livelihoods in Uganda. She highlighted notable projects like the Nile Bridge and various road constructions as symbols of Japanese friendship and partnership.

Looking ahead, Among emphasized the importance of further collaboration in trade, technology exchange, and education to empower Uganda’s youth for a competitive future.

Parliament also commended the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for its significant contributions to health, education, and infrastructure development in Uganda.

Ambassador Sasayama affirmed Japan’s dedication to strengthening bilateral ties and proposed linking the Japanese Parliament with Uganda’s Parliament. He underscored Japan’s commitment to supporting Uganda’s development priorities, particularly in technology and youth empowerment.

The Ambassador highlighted Japan’s intention to build upon existing cooperation in areas such as refugee support, infrastructure, agriculture, and education, with a renewed focus on technology and youth development.

Among expressed interest in Japanese involvement in the reconstruction of the Karuma Bridge, which recently underwent closure for rehabilitation. She expressed hope for continued collaboration akin to the successful partnership on the Nile Bridge project.
