Dr. Tibihikirra Appointed to Lead Law Development Centre: A Vision for Transformative Legal Education

In the official communication released on the morning of Tuesday, March 7th, 2024, Justice Paul Kahaibale Mugamba, Chairperson of the LDC Management Committee, expressed appreciation for Othembi’s contributions to the growth and development of LDC, extending best wishes for his future professional endeavors.

Mugamba emphasized Dr. Tibihikirra’s exemplary leadership and innovative approach, foreseeing her capacity to propel the Law Development Centre towards greater achievements in legal education. He expressed full confidence in her ability to foster innovation and advance the institution’s vision and mission.

Highlighting Tibihikira’s appointment, Mugamba noted her extensive experience in legal education, training, and justice administration, acquired through roles in various esteemed organizations.

She was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda in 1999 and practiced commercial law in Uganda. Before transitioning into academia, she worked in public international law with organizations in West and South Africa.

Tebihikirra served on the LDC Management Committee from 2010 to 2016. She also held positions as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Uganda Christian University, Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation at the National Council for Higher Education, and most recently, Chairperson of the Uganda Law Reform Commission.
