Addressing Corruption Head-On

In a fervent plea to the residents of Greater Masaka, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s First Son and Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), emphasized the detrimental effects of corruption on Uganda’s development.

Speaking at the Masaka Liberation Square, he urged Ugandans to reject corrupt leaders. He stressed that their election hampers progress and drains crucial resources needed for the country’s advancement.

Echoing PLU’s mission, Gen. Muhoozi highlighted the league’s commitment to fostering patriotism and unity among Ugandans.

He transcended barriers of tribe, race, religion, and political affiliation. He underscored the importance of collective action in safeguarding Uganda’s interests against external interference. He called on citizens to prioritize the nation’s well-being over personal gain.

Reaffirming his dedication to tangible change, Gen. Muhoozi disclosed the government’s plans to acquire 10 million doses of vaccines.

These vaccines are meant to combat foot and mouth disease among livestock. He acknowledged the distress it causes to cattle farmers.

Additionally, he emphasized the government’s support for youth empowerment through initiatives like the Microfinance Support Centre (MSC) and Operation Wealth Creation (OWC). These initiatives aim at nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation among the youth.

Empowering Communities: Grassroots Support

During a stopover in Lukaya, Gen. Muhoozi demonstrated PLU’s commitment to grassroots empowerment.

He provided financial assistance to various groups engaged in trade, fishing, and craftwork. This gesture underscored PLU’s dedication to uplifting vulnerable communities and fostering inclusive growth across the nation.

The presence of government officials and legislators, including Minister of State for Microfinance Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune and Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries Frank Tumwebaze, affirmed the significance of Gen. Muhoozi’s message and PLU’s growing influence in Ugandan politics.
